Supporting confidence, engagement, physical development and family interaction through active play and movement.
The Little Gymmies Active Play System is a modular and adaptable play environment designed to create opportunities for movement, exploration and active play within home, educational and community settings.
Through climbing, balancing, swinging, exploring and imaginative play, children may have opportunities to develop confidence, coordination, balance, spatial awareness and gross motor skills while enjoying meaningful movement experiences. Many children today lead increasingly sedentary lifestyles, while others are natural climbers, explorers and movers who simply need appropriate opportunities to direct their energy. Little Gymmies provides a dedicated space where movement can become purposeful, or even a space to develop self regulation, helping children focus on what they can do rather than what they cannot.
A single modular framework can support a wide range of activities and accessories, allowing challenges and experiences to evolve alongside the child. When not in use, the system can be dismantled and stored away, helping families and professionals create dedicated play opportunities while maintaining flexibility and supporting safe environments.
Occupational Therapists
Are you currently supporting children or families who may benefit from additional opportunities for active play, movement and exploration within their own home environment?
Little Gymmies may help create opportunities for children to practise skills, build confidence and engage in meaningful movement experiences through play. For some families, having access to a familiar and adaptable play environment at home may help support participation, engagement and family involvement between appointments and within everyday routines.
We recognise that every child is unique. As we continue to develop Little Gymmies, we welcome opportunities to collaborate with professionals to better understand individual needs and explore how environments, activities and equipment configurations may be adapted to support different abilities, goals and levels of participation.
The modular nature of the Little Gymmies Active Play System also provides flexibility to evolve and adapt over time. Whether through different accessories, activity options or bespoke configurations, we are always interested in exploring how the system may be tailored to help meet the needs of individual children and families.
Physiotherapists
Are you currently working with children who may benefit from opportunities to practise movement skills within their everyday environment?
Little Gymmies may help create opportunities for children to explore movement through play while encouraging repetition, engagement and participation. For some children, activities involving climbing, balancing, coordination, spatial awareness, jumping and upper body movement may become more enjoyable when incorporated into playful experiences within familiar surroundings.
By making movement fun, children may be more motivated to participate in activities and practise skills as part of everyday family life.
Visual Impairment Specialists
Are you currently supporting children who may benefit from access to a familiar, adaptable and engaging movement environment within the home or pre-school setting?
The Little Gymmies Active Play System provides a modular framework that can support a wide range of movement, exploration and play opportunities through a single familiar structure. As confidence, abilities and interests develop, accessories and activities can evolve alongside the child while the core environment remains the same.
We are particularly interested in exploring whether this type of adaptable and repeatable play environment may offer value for some children with visual impairment and differing sensory needs, and welcome opportunities to collaborate with professionals working within this field.
Veterans & Family Support
Families come in many forms, and meaningful opportunities to connect through play can be valuable for children, parents, grandparents, carers and wider support networks.
For some veterans and individuals living with physical injuries, reduced mobility or life-changing experiences, participating in traditional play activities or busy public environments may not always feel comfortable or practical. Little Gymmies may help create opportunities for shared experiences, interaction and engagement through play within familiar surroundings, allowing adults to remain involved and connected while supporting a child’s development and confidence.
Sometimes the greatest value is not in what someone can physically do, but simply in being present. Encouraging a child, sharing an adventure, celebrating achievements and creating memories together can be just as important as participating in the activity itself.
By focusing on participation, exploration and what people can do rather than what they cannot, active play can become an enjoyable way for families to spend time together, build confidence and strengthen connections across generations.
